If you're trying to drop a few pounds before summer arrives you still have time. Summer is still seven whole weeks away! You can make a lot of progress in that period of time but it's going to take planning and execution.
A lot of people talk about losing weight or trimming off the body fat but actually doing it takes more than talk. It takes planning, action and consistency.
I was talking with Chad the other day on our new podcast (coming soon!) about setting goals. What I've realized with goals is that having a plan of action and then taking action every single day is more important than the goal itself. It's the process, not the goal, that allows you to achieve great things. The planning part of all of this is what gives you the process. You plan your steps to achieve the goal and then you take consistent action each day.
This in a nutshell is discipline. But practicing discipline is actually freeing, not constraining. By building good habits and focusing on the process you'll start to see that you can achieve practically anything you set your mind to. This feeling is liberating!
So if you're trying to lose a few pounds in the next 7 weeks I'm here to tell you it's possible. Actually, it will happen if you have a plan and you follow it. Depending on how much weight you have to lose it's more than realistic to lose 1-2 pounds of body fat a week following a sensible exercise and nutrition plan.
The food part is the biggest win to go for. Eat nutritious whole foods for the next seven weeks. If you did nothing else at least eat whole foods and drop all the garbage out of your diet.
