How many times have you wanted to achieve something and then weeks later find that you've become totally derailed?
It's happened to me before and I'm sure it's happened to you.
The reality is that most things worth doing will challenge you. That's what makes those things worth pursuing in the first place.
There will be times that you want to give up because the road seems too rocky or the mountain seems too high. You need to remind yourself at that moment that if what you're doing isn't challenging you, then it isn't changing you.
When you set goals, whether they are fitness related or not, it's not all about the reward of achieving the goal. It's also about the journey and the person you have to become to achieve that goal.
When you truly go after something like getting in shape and losing 15 pounds you come out on the other side a different person. You grow. You change.
So when the times get tough... remind yourself that it's the positive change you're after.
If the road was easy you wouldn't have to change. You wouldn't have to get better. You wouldn't have to grow as a person.
Stay on your path and stay focused. You can do it. You can choose to be remarkable. Don't let other people tell you what is realistic, or worse... tell you that you're being "unrealistic".
