Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat
  2. Once hot, add the ground beef and sausage and brown
  3. When the meat has browned, add the chili powder, cumin and coriander. Mix well with the browned meat and cook for about 1 minute
  4. Stir in the garlic and onion. Cook until the onion is translucent (4 or 5 minutes).
  5. Add the diced tomatoes and chipotle peppers, salt and pepper and stir well. Bring to a simmer, then transfer to the crock pot with water or chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours
  6. Garnish with cilantro, avocado or toasted pumpkin seeds (or all three)!
