A Note About Paleo Dogma and Reaching Your Goals
I hate paleo "dogma" as much as the next guy and it's not our goal at PrimalPal to rake you over the coals if you stray away to eat something that isn't considered "paleo."
I do believe that a paleo diet can be a great foundation for eating healthy, nutrient rich foods. I'm after optimal health and a disease free life. I'm sure you are too! Current research points to eating whole, nutrient rich foods as the best way to do this. To me, this is what the paleo diet is all about.
It's not about shaming you if you have a slice of pizza or a regular, non-paleo, brownie. Those events that happen in isolation are not going to kill you. The constant stress caused from worrying about what to eat is not good for anyone. So don't stress! Have a plan and stick to it the best you can.
What can harm you are your long-term dietary habits. What you do on a consistent basis is what determines your outcome. Focus on building good habits and you will be fine.
We will adhere to a "No Paleo Dogma" attitude here at PrimalPal as long as you promise to stick to eating healthy and nutrient rich foods a majority of the time with your paleo diet.
If you have aggressive goals to lose weight then you have to accept that you'll need to be a little more adherent to a paleo diet until you reach your goals. Instead of 80/20 you might need to be 95/5. Catch my drift?
